Eketahuna School

Eketahuna School

Our children are :

Respectful,  self managers,  risk takers, creative thinkers, who are reflective, and  collaborative, whilst remaining curious and keen to give 100% in what they do.

At a place that:

Builds resiliency, is positive and safe with a rich curriculum that is authentic, culturally located,

inquiry based, explicit, integrated and "hands on”.

To ensure :

Our children are prepared to be successful in tomorrow’s world

Eketahuna School is collaborative, forward thinking, and focused on providing quality, innovative teaching and learning for all. Our curriculum is a ‘living and breathing’ document that changes according to student needs and prepares them for the 21st century. It entwines and facilitates the learning of knowledge, skills and character.  All students are involved in ‘hands - on” learning with ‘real - life’ contexts which encourage problem solving and creative thinking.

Our school and community actively pass on and sustain aspects of all cultures and heritages. We also believe education outside the classroom (EOTC) is an essential part of school life and look to extend students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom, taking advantage of the unique opportunities offered by the wider community and the environment.

Eketahuna School is a hidden gem!
